That alphabet soup after the agents name can be an indication that the agent has taken additional classes in a certain specialty of real estate. Here's what some of the designations mean:

  • CRS (Certified Residential Specialist): the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers.
  • ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative): real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home-buying process.
  • GREEN (NAR's Green Designation):real estate agents that have education, resources, and tools to understand and market properties with green features.
  • SRS (Seller Representative Specialist): the premier credential in seller representation.
  • e-PRO: certified in cutting -edge technologies and digital initiatives to link up with today's savvy real estate consumer.
  • MRP (Military Relocation Professional): educated on working with current and former military services members to find housing solutions that best suit their needs and take full advantage of military benefits and support.
  • SFR (Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource): agents with advanced ability to work with distressed sellers and the finance, tax , and legal professionals who can help them; qualify sellers for short sales; develop a short sale package; negotiate with lenders; limit risk; and protect buyers.
  • SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist): real estate training aimed at helping buyers and sellers in the 50-plus age range.
